AHEPP 2022 Conference | Rethinking Healthcare Emergency Management - Panel Discussion

RETHINKING Healthcare Emergency management: Leveraging COVID as a Catalyst For Change

At this year’s AHEPP 2022 Conference, Wakefield Brunswick CEO, Angela Devlen participated in a panel discussion looking at how healthcare and emergency management can leverage COVID as a catalyst for change.

The discussion was moderated by Nick Cagliuso, PhD, AHEPP Operating Board + MDB, Inc, and the other panelists accompanying Angela were Heather Costa, Cleveland Clinic, and Madeline Tavarez, NYC Health + Hospitals.

Questions answered by the panel included:

  • What is the current state of healthcare emergency management?

  • What is the most pressing issue facing healthcare emergency management today?

  • What is the business case for healthcare emergency management?

  • How can we as healthcare emergency managers leverage the ongoing experiences of COVID to rethink what we’re doing in healthcare?

  • What are the top skills necessary for today’s healthcare emergency managers?

We’re entering into a new chapter based on what we’ve learned in COVID and what lays ahead. My request to all of you is to start taking care of you and establish some peer-based support structures. Find your person, take care of you and get ready because we have to level up from here.
